Academic Senate
Welcome to the Academic Senate
The Academic Senate and its standing committees support the District's mission of student success by providing the academic and professional leadership necessary for outstanding developmental, career technical, and transfer education. Through institutional governance processes we promote the assessment of student learning and institutional performance.
The Academic Senate represents all full-time and associate faculty and is responsible for recommendations to the Administration and Board of Trustees with respect to academic and professional matters. The work of the Academic Senate is made possible by the dedication of the many faculty who serve as senators, committee chairs, and members of Senate and College committees. Our students are best served when faculty participate in institutional planning, decision-making, and program implementation.

The Academic Senate meets during the academic year at 1 p.m. on the first and third Fridays of every month in the Boardroom. Senate meetings are open to the public. For more information contact the Senate Co-Presidents Mark Winter (x4310) or Michael Richards (x4345) or the administrative secretary Sally Frazier (x4259.) The Academic Senate office is located at AD 106, and is open M-F 8:30-5:00.
